Testimonials from Happy Matching Service Members

As ever, you do a fantastic job!! As you know, without you I would probably be sitting in the house doing flower arranging or painting by numbers right now!! You are starting to stack up a rather long list of favours I owe you in return!
Chris Moore, Driver

Thanks for all your help Kim. I think I have found the right man.
Denis Barnett, Driver (Apr 07)

The driver whom you put in contact with me last year was great. We had rotten luck all year; in all the rallies we did we only made it to first service once! Every other one we were out by SS2, but I had a great time with him; he is a super fellow and I would regard him as a very good friend. I'm sure we will tackle stages again someday. Thanks again for your great work.
MB, Co-driver

Thanks for your service over the last 2 years. I have met and competed with two drivers through rallycodriver plus I’ve renewed the partnership which was going to end in 2002 - which was why I signed up to begin with.
CA, Co-driver

Thanks for these co-drivers. I'll follow them up - I'm impressed by the speedy service!
SH, Driver

MB, Co-driver (Feb 06)

Thank you very much for all your help with the matching service. I now have someone through the local motor club who is keen to help out and I'm busy getting the car ready for the Robin Hood at the beginning of March. Thanks again, and I'll certainly recommend you for anyone else in the same
situation.
JB, Driver (Jan 06)

I was just letting you know that your service has been a great help to me and found me a co-driver who I used for all events in 2005. I am having a year off in 2006 and would like you to cancel my subscription immediately. I am planning on rejoining next year if I return to rallying then. Thanks again for your help.  PW, Driver (Jan 06)

Just to let you know that I am no longer looking for a co-driver now. Thanks for your service - it has been excellent!
MB, Driver (Jul 05)

RD has signed up with me for the Jim Clark - just had an email - so thanks for the help in fixing me up. It was, as always, invaluable.
CR, Driver (Mar 05)

Thanks for that.  I am now fixed up for the Astra with GL.  Great service, as always.
AW, Driver (Mar 05)

2 rallies in 1 weekend in 2 different WRC cars!! I never would have believed it 12 months ago.
Martin Brady, Co-driver (Mar 05)

I've now done two rallies with PW and enjoyed both. Next up is North Humberside.  Happy customer!
JM, Co-driver (Mar 05)

Been a few changes lately, new addition to the family, etc. so been a bit distracted. Not sure how much rallying I will be 'allowed' to do this year but if and when I get my act together will give you a call. Thanks for all your help over the last couple of years; has been great.
Driver (Mar 05)

I am not needing the matching service at the moment - I think 2 and a half championships will do me for this year! However, you may have me knocking on your door come December..!  So yes, remove the profile from the site.  Thank you for all your help - you run a fantastic service!
KR, Co-driver (Mar 05)

Have spoken with PW and fixed up to do some events together.  Thanks for the service, I'm sure we will be fine together.
JM, Co-driver (Feb 05)

Just to let you know I am now fixed up with BM.  Another good year in prospect I hope.  Thanks to you and rallycodriver.  I will let you know how we develop.  Thanks.
JS, Driver (Jan 05)

and from the co-driver:
Thanks for the note, I am thrilled to have met up and agreed the season with JS - can't quite express how excited I am.  I'll make sure that we keep updates coming periodically through the year along with any reports I can think up and good looking photos.  Thanks again for all your help and I look forward to being able to give you an update following the first event.
BM, Co-driver (Jan 05)

Thanks for your service over the last 2 years. I have met and competed with two drivers through rallycodriver plus I’ve renewed the partnership which was going to end in 2002 - which was why I signed up to begin with.  Best of luck to you for 2005.
Chris Aslett, Co-driver (Dec 04)

Kim, the profile you have put together is perfect - you certainly have the skill of putting these things
together - but then you have probably seen the best and the worst.
Vicky Johnson, Co-driver

Just a quick note to thank you for the introduction to GL.  He is a superb co-driver and fantastic company. Thanks and regards,
RS, Driver

Many thanks for your help.  If my driver hadn't gotten sorted, I was desperately looking for someone to replace me in the car.  Thanks again for your help.  It is hugely reassuring when occasions like this arise.
BM, Co-driver

I was pleasantly surprised by the number of responses to my posting - I thought you said not to expect miracles! Your service has been excellent in that I have achieved exactly what I was hoping for - and in record time. For my part I would like to thank you for everything and I will recommend the website to my rally friends over here.
BS, Driver

Great service and great website - I'll be visiting the site regularly!!  BIG thanks for matching me with my co-driver - the last few rallies in 2003 went well.
AG, Driver

Thanks for these co-drivers. I'll follow them up - I'm impressed by the speedy service!
Sue Hedley, Driver

I would just like to say thank you for the excellent service that you and your team provide. It's unbelievable that within two days of joining rallycodriver.co.uk I have been contacted by three excellent co-drivers.
Paul Sanders, Driver

I'll be sending out an official PR, but I wanted to send you a quick note and say a personal thanks!  Without rallycodriver.co.uk, there is no chance that Matt and I would be competing in the Network Q Rally GB.  If you'll have a chance to make it out to the event, I sincerely hope that we can get together and have a beer. Thanks!
Christian Edstrom, Co-driver

As much as I would give limbs to run on such an event (WRC Acropolis) I unfortunately don't have the funds or correct licence. Many thanks for the opportunity. Many thanks for all the emails. I was very excited to get these through so quickly!
BM, Co-driver

Thank you for a super service so far. I have teamed up with Tony Simpson and will be co-driving for him on all the rounds of the Polo Challenge this year.
Stefan Arndt, Co-driver

Thank you for your help in finding a co-driver. As usual you have come up trumps. I have teamed up with Mark McAllister of New York and sparked up a great relationship with him. We met up midway through the Tempest Stages which was great. We shall be competing in the 206 Winter Cup to build up our rapport and have another go at the 206 Cup next year.
Richard Sykes, Driver

Can’t believe I only registered last week, and so many calls already. Just goes to show good navigators are a rare species!
PH, Co-driver

I’m astonished with all the help you are giving me in finding a navigator. I do really appreciate it but I think I have enough of them now for the time being.
Doni Keating, Driver

Just re-registered (how about a further discount for the referrals?) Thanks very much for the service this year. I've only had one drive from your service this year but what a drive! The most awesome event I've ever done and may ever do and well worth the subscription!
Bryan Hull, Co-driver

Had a fantastic time on the Jim Clark. The whole team made me feel really welcome, and I felt instantly at home. And as for my driver? Well what can I say? What an outstanding talent! We're going to be doing the Manx next. I can't thank you enough for all your help in sorting this out.
IT, Co-driver

Thanks once again for all the vacancies... I'm surprised just how many there are around!
GW, Co-driver

Had a great time with George Philippedes, managed to secure 5th place in the Peugeots which was his best place of the season. He earned a big lump of prize money (£ lots). I think we also came 21st o/a which was nice. Thanks for putting him in touch with me. Keep up the good work.
Mark Thake, Co-driver

How could I not rejoin for another year? I will sort a cheque out ASAP and get it sent to you!
Richard Edwards, Co-driver

You’ve done me a huge favour by getting me back in a rally car again as I must admit that after the car failing in us in yet another rally I was seriously considering packing rallying in and selling it. Co-driving the Clubmans course car on the Astra Stages has just made me want to get the car sorted, get back in it, and rally again! Thank you!
Mandy Twynham, Driver

More nice things that people are saying about rallycodriver's Matching Service:

As you may have heard, I got in touch again with SS. I will be contesting the whole of the 2005 BTRDA 1400s with him in his Mk2 Escort, starting with the Wyedean in Feb. Many thanks for getting us both in touch. Will keep you updated with our progress and hopefully successes during the season.
CR, Co-driver

Thanks again, Kim.  Excellent service - I know co-drivers are never wrong, but the ones who praise you are definitely not wrong!
Martin Brady, Co-driver

I am sorry to inform you that I will not be renewing my membership. This decision is purely financial, showing up the grim state of my accounts. Throughout the past year I have been increasingly impressed with the service that you offer and your regular updates. I would not hesitate for an instant in recommending you to anybody involved, or with a interest in rallying. As soon as I have a cash flow to speak of, I will reinstate my membership. Many thanks for your hard work over the last year.
RD, Driver

My thanks for all the people you have put in touch with me.
Brynmor Pierce, Co-driver

Thanks for your mail regarding my subscription. Unfortunately I won't be joining you this year for the simple reason I'm sorted for two rides already!  Also the main reason is that I'm expanding my business at the moment and I haven't got the free time that I've enjoyed before, but when I start getting more time I'll certainly be getting in touch!  I'd like to thank you for all your hard work over the past year and wish you lots of luck.  If ever you're out on an event that I'm doing please come and say hello cos I owe you several beers!!!
NG. Co-driver

Sorry I haven't responded for a bit,.  I have been speaking to TM (the Swedish co-driver). We have met and we will now be a team for the rest of the year (hopefully) so thanks for your help with the match.
JS. Driver

I want to thank you for the service and support you've shown over the last 2 years - you have put me in contact with several good spins (especially Mr S!!!!), and I feel honoured to be a part of our co-driver Hall of Fame. I hope the site continues to flourish.
Patrick Walsh
, Co-driver

Thank you for all your help last week!!  You run an absolutely fantastic service and without your help there would be an awful lot of people out there struggling to go rallying, myself included!! Keep up the good work!!!!  Thank you all once again and good luck for the future.
Chris Moore, Driver

Thanks for getting in touch so soon after I registered. I was expecting it to take at least a week or so!
Toby Nelson, Driver

I am ok for a co-driver at the moment, but should I be searching for one again then I would definitely use your services and recommend them to others. Thanks again.
Ian Forgan, Driver

Just a quick message to say I've found someone to navigate for me. You sent his details to me some time ago. He seems to have the experience I am looking for in a navigator, and I hope that things go well and I don't have to look for someone else for the rest of the season! I must say that I REALLY appreciate your help. Thank you. I will keep in touch, but I'm sure you'll get sent all the news about our rally adventures. Thanks again.
JN, Driver

Just to let you know that we finished the Plains Rally 8th o/all and 3rd in class and to thank you for finding a co-driver for me. Anders Howard was very good and we were very pleased to have him join our team.
Martin Lowe, Driver

It’s Dave - with the Favorit. Once again thank you very much for all the effort you put in to finding me a co-driver so quickly. Carl Williamson was a really good co-driver. It made such a difference to sit with someone who was so calm and knew exactly what he was doing and I think he brought out my best driving so far as I felt confident in his calling the road from the maps.
Dave Carruthers, Driver

Just a quick note to say thanks for putting me in touch with Paul Alexander! I will be co-driving for him on the Cork "20"!  Thanks again!
Jakes Kelly, Co-driver

Looking forward to writing you many reports in 2003 and beyond. GB and I would not have got together as a team if it was not for you, so thanks for that. It makes the subscription well worth it. Oh, and I haven't forgotten I still owe you a few drinks. Thanks.
PH, Co-driver

I just want to take this opportunity to thank you for connecting Chris and I for the Tempest Stages Rally. Though we had a few snags, we enjoyed ourselves and got on well. Thanks again.
Mark McAllister, Co-driver

Just a quick line to thank you for your excellent service. I think I am now sorted for the rest of the year. I will let you know if anything changes. Thanks once again.
Stuart Cheape, Driver

I'm pretty much sorted. Thanks for the "pointers" this year anyhow. I followed-up with 3 or 4 of the names you recommended, and one did seem really good (MT). Great service - Great website - and a big "Thank you"
AG, Driver

Thanks for your efforts here. I am now sorted with DP for the Somerset Stages & GL for the remaining BTRDA rounds. I now have a number of good contacts in case the same problem arises in the future! Thanks again.
Roland Jones, Driver

Success stories
  • A casting director contacted us in November 2006 looking for one rally driver and one rally co-driver to feature in a TV commercial for a major drinks brand. We were able to contact over 200 potential 'stars' that same day as the auditions were due to be held in central London three days later, with the shooting due to take place in Prague in December!

A UK television company contacted us in November 2004, "We have just been commissioned to make a new pre-school educational series 'Look' which will be shown on Channel Five.  Each episode will be 2 and a half minutes long and gradually reveal a process, event or craft. We are looking for a craftsman or firm that can assemble a car engine from all the parts."  This was circulated to all our members immediately and several were able to recommend their own service team or preparation company for potential TV fame!  We are now hoping that the programme will be made available to grown-ups too!

  • A Japanese lady driver contacted us, looking for an English-speaking lady co-driver to accompany her on WRC Japan in September 2004, with the potential for WRC Catalunya later in the year.  This opportunity was only circulated to our membership list, and four lady co-drivers were in contention. Inbal Edry had moved to England to further her co-driving career and immediately made herself available for her first WRC ride.  NB. It should be noted that several of our male co-driver members were quite keen to dress up in drag for a chance to be considered - you will be relieved to know that this never proved necessary! .

  • Earlier this year, we had a BRC driver get in touch in a panic as his current co-driver had just been snaffled by another team - and the Rally of Wales was the following weekend. That morning, we fixed him up - with two other co-drivers in the frame for future events if things didn't work out. Result - one relieved driver, and three very happy co-drivers. Potential disasters like this can strike at any time - that's when the Rallycodriver Matching Service can be a life-saver.

  • The BBC contacted us, "Could you recommend a young rally driver that we could film driving with our female presenter very fast through woods in this country? This is for an educational children's series on BBC1."  They decided they would particularly like a female driver and we put them in touch with several of our lady members.

  • A top UK co-driver contacted us looking for a 'different but top-notch' drive and we put him in touch with several drivers in North America and Europe.

  • Steve Titmuss contacted us one Friday in March 2004 when he discovered that, with less than a week to go, his co-driver would not be available for the Hannut Rally. Entry was paid, ferries and hotel booked, so this was a crisis.  By Monday morning, we had fixed him up with one of our members and they caught the ferry on the Thursday.  Steve emailed us, "We had a good run at the weekend, finishing 38th and 3rd in class. Only a few minor moments!!  Well minor, in that we got away with it!"

  • Dave Carruthers needed a co-driver THAT SAME DAY for the North Humberside Rally. Yes, you're right!  We contacted Carl Williamson and he jumped into the hot seat. Dave was blown away by the experience.

  • The week before the Pirelli International Rally 2002, the first round of the British Rally Championship, we were suddenly asked to look for 4 co-drivers for that event and managed to get all four fixed up in time!  Two of those have since committed to the full British Rally Championship season! (I have since been committed to a darkened room with a large gin and tonic!)

  • Tom Ryan emailed us needing a co-driver immediately to sort out visas, innoculations, etc. for the Midnight Sun to Red Sea Rally. Job sorted - within the week - and Bryan Hull had signed his June away!

  • Chris Moore contacted us as soon as he knew that his usual co-driver would no longer be available for the rest of the 206 Super Cup midway through the 2002 season.  Five days later, Chris had secured the services of top British co-driver, Stewart Merry, and their first event together was the Ulster Rally.

  • Matt Jessup emailed us on the Monday, needing a co-driver for the Mewla National that weekend and also for the Ulster Rally.  That very same night, after we had swamped Matt with lots of interested co-drivers, he teamed up with experienced co-driver Linda Whitmore. They had a very 'eventful' rally.

  • Another late requirement - Roger Mustoe needed a co-driver for the Woodpecker Stages with only 4 days to go.   "My co-driver can't do it as we can't find any drugs strong enough to stop his car sickness. It's his stomach, not my driving!"  With 2 days to spare, a very brave Vicky Johnson was co-opted into calling the maps.

  • When rallycodriver first hit the internet in 2000, a young, ambitious co-driver started sending in reports from his rallying adventures.  We published all of them and Bob Rose was one of the first members of our new matching service.  Then, we received an email from a top photo/journalist in Lithuania who was looking for an English-speaking co-driver for the Lithuanian National Rally Champion, Rokas Lipeikis, and had been impressed by Bob's articles and his co-driver profile.  Bob sent in yet another report, "The rally was over three days and we travelled 1645km. I saw the whole of Lithuania, from the coast to the borders of Russia. I will travel to Lithuania on Oct 3rd to take part with Rokas prior to the Bulldog and the Network Q. I nearly forgot - we won this weekend (first overall)!"
