Ford Escort Mk 2
Ford Escort Mk2 stage prepared rally car, fully stage rally prepared and
MSA log booked, previously used by me on single venue tarmac events
locally.
Originally built by Mark Annison of Canada Garage Motorsport from a
genuine 1600 Sport shell. Full historic specification with category 3
class D2, MSA historic rally vehicle identity form.
Seats and belts in date (belts valid until end 2014 & 2015). 1600
crossflow engine. High compression pistons. Big valve head. Balanced
lightened flywheel. Electric radiator cooling fan. Twin 40 DCOE Weber
carburettors. Kent 244 cam. Lumenition electronic ignition and Motorcraft
distributor with modified
advance curve 4-Speed Tran-X gearbox.
4.4 LSD English axle with Panhard Rod vented front discs. Bilstein
suspension all round (adjustable rear dampers). New 145lb front springs.
Fixed platform front struts (to comply with Historic Regulations). Large
9" drum rear brakes (to comply with Historic Regulations). Adjustable bias
pedal box (based on an original Ford Escort item with the original pedals
to comply with HRCR Regulations).
Aeroquip / Braided brake hoses. Shaped alloy tank and splash bowl. Twin
fuel pumps and filter with pressure gauge. Fibreglass bonnet & boot.
Fly-Off Handbrake. New rear brake shoes. Helmet net. |

Professional intercom with connectors for mobile phone & walkie-talkie
(adapted to Peltor helmet connections). Race 4 into 1 exhaust manifold.
Twin box Ashley exhaust system (95 decibels noise check on last event).
Will be sold with 21 months MoT. No Tax (not required for single venue
events - declared SORN). Everything as you would expect from a 'proper'
stage rally car. Photos show car on brand new Maxsport 70 series tyres (to
comply with Historic Regulations) taken in October 2010 and car has been
garaged since.
Spare Weller White 8-Spoke & Minilite wheels with 60 series tarmac tyres.
Spare Ford Alloys with gravel tyres. Receipts from last 3 years. All
graphics are stickers and can be removed easily. This is a 'proper' Rally
car and not a 'Show Car' so has various bodywork defects as you would
expect and can be seen in the photos.
One point to note is that this car was originally a sunroof model and has
had a metal plate pop-rivetted onto the roof. It does the job, but doesn't
look that pretty! However, the car is in very good condition for a 30 year
old car!

Metro 6R4 2.5 V6 Goodmans
Big bolt suspension. 3 Way Pro-Flex set to Tarmac (Forrest
set up available.) All units serviced by pro-flex 2-3 events ago. Front
anti roll bar fitted. Motorsport Wiring Loom. Twin Oil Coolers with
cooling fans. Alloy radiator with twin fans. Auxiliary fan fitted to
tailgate. Full Dyno sheets dated 08/2007 by Goodmans Race Engines.
Complete engine strip, rebuild and remap, installation and various
upgrades carried out 08/2007 by Goodmans Race Engines. The car has done
less than 500km since. MBE
Management ECU with programming laptop. Spare MBE ECU included in spares
package. Centre diff re-built 1 event ago by R&D Transmissions. Front diff
re-built 3 events ago as above with Crown wheel & pinion by R&D. Gearbox
rebuilt 3 events ago by R&D. Strengthened front club inner drive shaft
joint fitted 2008. New Rally-cross cranked arms & spherical bearings
fitted 01/2008. Monte Carlo
brakes. Radial mount callipers. Electric power steering. Heated
windscreen. All new wheel studs fitted January 2008 via DAM Engineering.
New high pressure fuel pump fitted 06/2008. Flocked dash in black. Fully
plumbed fire extinguisher system. Corbeau bucket seats – black – fitted
2007 with 5 point 3” seat belts. Sculptured front bib (And several
spares). Custom made roof vent. PIAA Lamp Pod. Car was re-sprayed and
marketed in June 2008. Audi Charcoal Metalic. Battery, Propshaft Bolts,
Oil tank cap seal, rear diff output shaft all replaced 2009. |
